Mandate
The task of the department shall be to assist the Conference in its business transactions and in the administration of its finances. The Department shall exercise its functions through the Accounts Office of the Conference and a Financial Management Committee.
The Department shall make recommendations to the Administrative Board concerning the annual budget and financial reports of the General Secretariat, the Departments and the Offices
The Department’s Financial Management Committee shall consist of the Episcopal Committee and the Finance and Administration Department.
The day-to-day financial management of the Conference shall be entrusted to the Financial Manager, the Accounts Office and the Secretary General.

The Department shall meet weekly.
The Management Committee meets on a monthly basis.
The year 2003 saw the Catholic Secretariat fully implement Pastel V6 accounting system which has helped improve the lay out of financial reports and the keeping of accounting records.
Supported the establishment of the Zambia Catholic University in Kalulushi, Copperbelt Province. The ZCU began enrolling students in May 2008 though it is yet to officially open.
Managed the construction of a 120-bed capacity National Catholic Hospital at Bauleni Towship in Lusaka. The hospital is near completion, and is expected to open its Out-Patient Department to the public by the end of 2009.
