President Edgar Lungu has acknowledged the role the Church plays in providing health care to the people of Zambia. President Lungu has also praised the Catholic Church for its effort in complimenting government’s efforts in the health care provision for years.
He said that the move by the Catholic Church in enhancing accessibility and affordability of quality specialist health care for the majority of the Zambian people who cannot go abroad for treatment is recommendable.
The President further said that the Church will continue to be government’s reliable partner in the provision of health care, adding that his government was grateful to the Church’s 60% of health service provision in the rural areas of Zambia.
