Catholic Diocese of Solwezi Bishop, Rt. Rev. Charles Kasonde has called on all Christians in his diocese to continue contributing towards the Diocesan Levy as a way of making the diocese attain self-sustainability.
Bishop Kasonde observed that with the dwindling aid from our sister churches abroad all Christians and people of good will in the diocese should contribute to the Diocesan Levy. “With the dwindling aid from our sister churches all in Asia, Europe and United States of America, it is important that all Christians continue to contribute to the Diocesan Levy in order to successfully implement our diocese’s pastoral and social programmes”, said Bishop Kasonde.
And Bishop Kasonde concluded by thanking all priests, religious sisters and brothers, deacons, seminarians, all Christians and the Filipino Community for generously contributing towards the Diocesan Levy. A total of $ 48,329.79 was contributed compared to last year’s $34,482.80.
The contribution was made during the Diocesan Thanksgiving Mass held on 29 June, 2015 at St. Daniel’s Cathedral Parish in Solwezi, North Western of Zambia.
