Pontifical Mission Societies in Zambia (PMS) National Director Father Benard Zulu says the Church feels morally duty bound to safeguard and promote the many vocations God has provided. He has also said Priesthood and Religious life are mainly the fruit of the free and dynamic action of the spirit in the Church which is a concrete gift from God to the Church, through which God wants to reveal the ever fresh, ever surprising beauty of His love. This is contained in a message to mark Vocations Sunday which falls on March, 26 under the theme Vocations under the service of the Universal Mission of the Church; Father Zulu has said that priesthood and religious life are a fruit of the action of the spirit in the Church. And Father Zulu says the task of fostering vocations demands for the need to provide helpful guidance and direction along the way. He noted that central to this should be love of God’s word nourished by a growing familiarity with Sacred Scripture, and attentive and unceasing prayer, both personal and community making it possible to hear God’s call amid all the voices of daily life.
The PMS national Director has also emphasized that the Eucharist should be the heart of every vocational journey because it is where that the love of God touches people in a very special and profound way. He also said that formation houses have to be equipped and well-kept with qualified formators needed.
